Irrigation Timer Set-up
City of Mascotte staff are available to assist customers with setting the automated timers on irrigation systems. Should you desire assistance with setting up or adjusting your system, please call 352-429-4429 for an appointment.
Automated Meter Reading
The Automated Meter Reading System is completely installed throughout the City of Mascotte. The meter reading process takes about 3.5 hours to read all 1,700 accounts. The water meter is a Neptune SBRII that meets the standards of the American Water Works Association. Each meter has a leak detector component that can detect the smallest leak.

Water Treatment Plants
The City of Mascotte has three potable water wells that supply a total daily average of 520,000 gallons:
- The Midway Avenue water plant has a 10 foot well and a 50,000 gallon elevated storage tank.
- The Knight Street water plant has two wells, 16 foot and 10” in diameter, a 200,000 gallon ground storage tank, and a 150 kilowatt emergency power generator.
- The Elizabeth Street water plant site has a 150,000 gallon elevated tank.
The average well depth is 500 feet that reaches deep into the Floridian Aquifer. The water is chlorinated for disinfection and we use polyphosphate for iron and corrosion control.

Water Quality Monitoring
The city has two state certified operators that monitor and test the water quality daily, along with performing routine duties of maintenance on the plant equipment.
